Primary Headteacher's Welcome

On behalf of staff and governors I would like to welcome you to Prendergast Primary School, Lewisham’s new purpose-built primary school.

I am very proud to be the first Headteacher of this beautiful new school and am delighted with the facilities that we are able to offer in our brand new provision. Our new site includes a purpose built primary building, as well as a stunning outdoor space which includes specifically designed play areas for Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Our pupils will have fun and learn in our eco-garden, habitat area and astro-turfed multi-purpose games area. In September 2014 we had our first Ofsted inspection with our EYFS gaining a 'good' judgement. We were particularly praised for the positive links that we make with our families, and this is something that we have continued to nurture, as we are all very well aware of the huge impact that this has on the success of our pupils.

Since we started our journey to develop into a full two-form entry primary school, I have been overwhelmed with the very positive reaction we have received from new parents, children and visitors. Children are at the centre of everything we do at Prendergast Primary, and our aim is to provide a stimulating learning environment in which children are excited to learn and are given the confidence to achieve their potential. We foster strong links between home and school, actively encouraging parents to be closely involved in their child’s education.

At Prendergast Primary we have a dedicated staff team who are committed to achieve the very best for each and every child within our care. Visits to the school are encouraged and welcomed – please contact our school office to arrange an appointment. Further information about our school can also be found in our school brochure via this link. You can also view a 'day in the life of Prendergast Primary' on our video below.

I look forward to meeting you.
