In-Year admissions

Our school is now CLOSED for the summer break and in-year admissions have closed until we re-open in September.

Our waiting list has closed and, should you wish to re-apply, you must submit a new application form with new documents from September.

This school acts in accordance with the relevant provisions of the School Admissions Code (2021).

We welcome new in-year applications throughout the academic year. Please use our online in-year application form and note: we are only able to process applications once the school has received all relevant requested documents.

You must provide documents to support your application, including a current proof of address and proof of birth date for your child. For more information and the full list of accepted documents, please read our proof of address and parental responsibility protocols, available on the School Policies page of our website. If you move house, or some other relevant change to your situation, you must re-apply and provide new documents.

For children who have arrived from outside the UK – it is the responsibility of the parents of foreign national children to check that their children have a right under their UK entry conditions to study at a school before applying for a place. Year 8-Year 11

For in-year admissions, you must apply direct to Prendergast Ladywell School. We welcome new in-year applications from each September, when our school re-opens to students. You must re-apply each academic year. Please follow the link to our in-year application form, below.

For Year 11, we advise you to email the school (using the PLS Admissions email address below) to provide more information or contact your own local authority.

The waiting list is closed each year, when the school closes on the last school day of the summer term. Should you wish to re-apply for in-year admission, you will need to make a new application for an in-year place in the relevant year group from the start of each academic year in September.

You do not need to apply via the local authority for Prendergast Ladywell School. You are advised to submit an In-year Common Application Form (iCAF) to your own local authority if you wish to transfer your child/ward to a different school.

Year 7

For in-year admissions to Year 7, the secondary transfer planned round applies until 31 December each year. This school participates in the pan London Admissions Scheme for secondary transfer admissions into Year 7 each September and all applications must go via your local authority until the end of December of the year of entry.

From the start of term in January each year, our standard in-year admissions procedure applies to in-year applications to Year 7 and you must apply direct to Prendergast Ladywell School from January onwards.

You do not need to apply via the local authority for Prendergast Ladywell School from January onwards. You are advised to submit an In-year Common Application Form (iCAF) to your own local authority if you wish to transfer your child/ward to a different school.

Online applications are preferred. A paper copy of the form is available on request during periods when admissions are open. Our contact details are below. Paper application forms must be returned to Prendergast Ladywell School, as outlined in the form.

Please note, this school is Prendergast Ladywell School located on Ladywell Fields and Manwood Road. We are a co-educational school for boys and girls. Prendergast School is an all-girls secondary school for Years 7-11 (with a mixed Sixth Form) and Prendergast Vale is a co-educational school for boys and girls.

Admission criteria

The oversubscription criteria for in-year admissions are the same oversubscription criteria published in our Determined Admissions Policy each year and on our Admission Arrangements page for entry into Year 7 (see link in left-hand menu to admissions arrangements for current year).

Please note that for in-year applications only for a secondary place (Years 7-11), a qualifying sibling is a sibling who is in the secondary phase (in Years 7-11).

Admission Outside the Normal Age Group

Parents are entitled to request a place for their child outside of their normal age group. If you wish to request a place, please contact the Governance Professional at: governance@leathersellers-federation.com

This admission authority cannot be required to honour a decision made by another admission authority about a child out of the normal age group.

Waiting lists

Waiting lists are held in the same order as the admission oversubscription criteria. Prendergast Ladywell School operates its own in-year admissions and waiting lists from January of Year 7.

To ensure the waiting list is accurate, the in-year waiting list will close at the end of the academic year in July. You must re-apply to the school at the start of each academic year in September.

If your circumstances change, such as a change of address, or some other relevant change to your situation, please submit a new application with this new information, and provide new supporting documents. Please re-apply online or contact the school via the details below.

The school participates in Lewisham local authority’s In-Year Fair Access Protocol and children may be prioritised over those children on the waiting list for admission under this protocol.
