Religious Studies

The aim of Religious Studies at Prendergast Ladywell School is to prepare students for the diverse world in which we live. We aim to encourage and foster an enthusiasm for learning about themselves and others.

The Religious Studies curriculum at Prendergast Ladywell covers content based on the Lewisham Agreed Syllabus. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for GCSE study as well as developing well balanced, tolerant 21st century citizens. The curriculum covers the Abrahamic faiths, Dharmic religions and considers religious, non-religious worldviews and relevant ethical and social issues.

Our curriculum aims to teach students how to interpret sources of wisdom and understand their role within society. Students will learn how to present reasoned arguments verbally and in writing.

Students have a one-hour lesson each week.
