Prendergast Ladywell School Celebrates an Exceptional Day of GCSE Results

Prendergast Ladywell School is bursting with pride today as we celebrate the incredible achievements of our 2025 GCSE students. Their hard work and dedication have paid off with truly outstanding results that will open doors to exciting academic futures.

Our students showed great strength across the board. An impressive 48% of students secured a strong pass (Grade 5 or higher) in both English and maths, while 67% achieved a standard pass (Grade 4 or higher). With an Attainment 8 score of 4.92, the average grade achieved by all students was just shy of a Grade 5.

We were particularly thrilled with the outstanding results in science, where 65% of students achieved a strong pass. The success continued in subjects like Art, Drama, Spanish, Computer Science, and RE, where our students truly shone.

This year, 28% of all grades were at the highest level (Grades 7-9). This is a remarkable accomplishment that reflects the depth of talent at our school. We want to give a special shout-out to the following students who achieved the highest grades:

  • Shirley, Sydney, and Thomas: Each earned an incredible 7 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s.

  • Ria: 6 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s.

  • Omri and Micah: Both received 6 Grade 9s, along with high grades in all other subjects.

  • Ben, Callum, Jay, Alex, Fritha, and Sara: Achieved exceptional results, with multiple Grade 9s, 8s, and 7s.

These fantastic results are a direct reflection of our students' commitment and the unwavering support of our staff. We are proud to say that these outcomes are well above the 2024 national and Lewisham averages. We can't wait to see what they achieve next as many of them continue their journey with us at Prendergast Sixth Form.

Headteacher Niall Hand said: "I couldn't be more proud of our students. Their dedication, combined with the support of our brilliant staff, has led to these amazing outcomes. This is a day to celebrate all of their accomplishments, and I have no doubt they'll continue to excel in the years to come."
