Shikira is a textile designer with a background in teaching art and design at the secondary level and working children with social, emotional, and behavioural disorders. She operates a creative business encouraging people of all abilities to foster creative lifestyles and explore new crafts and hobbies. Shikira also writes engaging course content tailored for design and production level 2 national qualifications, targeting the age group of 14-16 year olds.

Beyond her creative pursuits, Shikira actively utilises her platform to address issues of equality and diversity within both the educational realm and the craft industry. She collaborates with companies, to help establish connections and promote inclusivity in these fields. When she’s not designing needle craft projects for companies, you can find her in the kitchen cooking delicious food for her family, or quietly sewing her own creative endeavours.
