Year 7 Catch up Funding
Year 7 catch up funding has historically been allocated for students who have Key Stage 2 assessment data which showed them as achieving below a level 4 in reading or mathematics. Funding is £500 per student.
In 2017/18 the school received £20,985
The school spent the funding in the following ways:
Identified students targeted using online resource such as Hegarty Maths, and MyMaths.
In Maths 24x students were identified as in need of intervention having a score of <95 in their Key Stage 2 for Grammar assessment. By the end of the academic year, 21x students were assessed by their teachers as having made better than expected progress. 1x was making expected progress.
Students in English were supported by the LSA team who worked on reading and core literacy skills during 2x Tutor periods per week.
In English there were 15x students who joined us in need of intervention, having a score of <95 in their Key Stage 2 Mathematics assessment. At the end of the academic year 12x were assessed by their teachers as making better than expected progress, 2x were making expected progress.

We have received our funding for the Academic year 2018-2019 of £ 20,985
The school will spend our 2018-19 allocation in the following way:
- The Ruth Miskin programme to support Literacy in KS3
- Continuation of the successful Mathematics Strategy using online programmes
