We are delighted that you are considering applying for a place for your child in one of our Reception classes for September 2017. Since opening in 2014 we have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback that we have received from our parents and look forward to welcoming our new pupils to our wonderful school.
At Prendergast Primary we place great importance on forming positive relationships with our families; therefore if your child is offered a place we will be inviting you to a number of events aimed at familiarising them with school life, their teachers and peers. This is also an excellent opportunity for you as parents to get to know our team.
Please put the following dates in your diary:
Sunday 15th January 2017 - Applications for Reception places close
Applications should be made via the Lewisham Admissions website
Tuesday 18th April – National Offer Day
If you have been offered a place at Prendergast Primary School and would like to accept your offer, please do so via the Lewisham Council website. The deadline for accepting your place is Tuesday 2rd May. We require you to complete our induction documentation and return to us via email, post or in person by Friday 26th May. We will also need to see original copies of your child’s birth certificate, passport (if they have one) and a utility bill less than 3 months old. Our induction documentation can be found via the following link: Primary Admissions 2017-18
Tuesday 25th April 9.15am and Thursday 27th April 5pm – School Tours
If you have not already visited our school (or if you would like to visit again), this will be an opportunity for you to take a look at our facilities and meet some of our team. Please book your space on a tour with the school office on 020 8613 7490.
Tuesday 13th June and Thursday 15th June – Taster Sessions 9.30am – 10.30am
We will be inviting you and your child into school to experience a session in the Reception class and to meet the Reception class teachers. You will be advised which session your child will be invited to in due course.
Wednesday 21st June 5pm - Welcome to New Parents
This is an opportunity for parents to meet all of our staff team and to ask any outstanding questions that you may have. You will also be able to view Honeybees, our Breakfast and After School Club facility and to book your child in for September if you wish. This is a meeting for parents only where possible.
Friday 23rd June 3.15pm - 5.30pm - Summer Fayre
All new Reception families are invited to join us at our annual Summer Fayre.
Tuesday 4th July 10.30am – 12noon – Family Picnic
Our picnic has been a very popular family event over the last two years. We will be inviting our new children, siblings, parents/carers and grandparents to join the Reception team for a picnic in the school grounds. This is a great way of everyone getting to know each other.
Week Commencing Monday 4th September - Home Visits
Your child’s class teacher will visit you and your child at home during this week. The purpose of this visit is for your child to get to know us better in their home environment and for the class teacher to find out a little bit more about their likes and dislikes, which will help them to settle quickly into school life.
Week Commencing 11th September - Children Start School
Your child will start school one day during this week – you will be advised of the date nearer the time. Children attend school all day from 8.45am until 3.15pm from their very first day. All children will be full time at school by Friday 15th September.
